Dr. Robert King brings more than three decades of psychiatric experience to clients whose needs demand careful formulation, interdisciplinary thinking, and precise clinical judgment — particularly where mental health intersects with neurodevelopmental complexity, trauma, and treatment resistance.

Dr. King began his career as a family physician, completing his medical degree at the University of Toronto and postgraduate training in Family Medicine at Queen's University.
He completed specialist training in psychiatry at the University of Western Ontario, graduating in 1993. Since then, he has worked in hospitals, the community, universities and with individuals with disabilities.

He is recognized for his work with Autism Spectrum Disorders and intellectual disabilities, when they co-occur with anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, substance use, or behavioural complexity.
Dr. King helped develop systems of care across Northeastern, Northwestern, and Southeastern Ontario, working from a careful, collaborative, formulation-driven model.

He has lectured throughout North America, co-authored Asperger's Syndrome: A Clinician Guide, edited Demystifying Syndromes, and published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
His article Charting for a Purpose was recognized internationally with the Dr. Robert Sovner Award, with former academic appointments at Western and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
